Arizona Community Tree COuncil

The Arizona Community Tree Council is an education and tree community-building nonprofit organization dedicated to the proper care and planting of Arizona trees for more than 30 years: from seed to shade to sustainability.

Our vision is to advance and foster sustainable community forestry in Arizona. Our mission is to facilitate the proper planting and care of Arizona trees.

Our programs bring together communities to encourage green spaces, urban forests and great neighborhoods with shade and other benefits. We love Arizona and work together with volunteers, partners and businesses to make our communities greener and more enjoyable.

We help volunteers plant trees; advocate for proper tree choice and tree care; connect tree owners with tree professionals to help keep their trees healthy, and provide Certified Arborists, Tree Workers and Master Gardeners access to education and CEUs. https://www.aztrees.org/Tree-Info

The Maricopa Native Seed Library provides free native plant seed to the community, as well as education to make it easy to incorporate these plants into your yards, patios and balconies.

1. Plant profiles of native plants including germination, care and wildlife benefits of each.
2. Plant lists based on desired characteristics (ex: nectar plants, butterfly host plants, full sun plants)
3. Information on how to obtain free seed from the Maricopa Native Seed Library

Because of the COVID 19 pandemic, information about where to visit to obtain seed from the library will be continually updated on the seed library's webpage at libguides.maricopa.edu/seed.
