Bamboo Ranch is part urban farm, part botanical garden, part plant nursery, and part botanical germplasm collection. In 1986 Matt and Holly Finstrom began raising "cane" on the west side of Tucson in the foothills of the tiny Tucson Mountains, on their one-acre-plus of caliche and rocks. Since 2003 we have supplied bamboo plants to Southwestern gardeners.

The International Sansevieria Society is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, research and education for the genus Sansevieria. The aim is to promote interest in these fascinating plants and increase the available knowledge of all aspects of their cultivation, ecology and correct naming. The society also increases the number of species and cultivars identified in type localities and brings them into cultivation.
The ISS maintains a website, a private Facebook site, and a journal published 2-3 times per year. There are now 42 issues of the journal Sansevieria available in print or as downloads at the ISS website. The Society also offers a searchable DVD of issues 1-33, and downloadable books about Sansevieria written by our President Emeritus B. Juan Chahinian: The Splendid Sansevieria, and The Sansevieria Trifasciata Varieties which are now out-of-print.
