The Sonora Environmental Research Institute (SERI) is a community-based nonprofit founded in 1994 and located in Tucson, Arizona. For over 25 years we have partnered with disadvantaged and marginalized communities throughout the Southwest to protect the environment and improve community health.
SERI provides residents educational resources, training, and a program to promote rainwater harvesting. This includes a plant guide, rainwater harvesting workshops, and a grant/loan program for disadvantaged and marginalized communities. For those who qualify for our grant/loan program, we help pay for the rainwater harvesting system, assist with the design, purchasing of materials, and hiring contractors.
